Wedding: Burenheide and Schropfer

Trina Burenheide and Ben Schropfer were married Jan. 31, 2009, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lincoln, Neb. The Rev. Joseph Faulkner officiated at the afternoon ceremony.
The maid of honor was Mary Lewis. The best man was Jay Huhman. The bride’s attendants were Lorie Wagner, Heather Smilkstein and Deitra Schropfer. The bride’s other attendants were Shannon Padgitt, Theresa Rademacker and Beth Thackeray. The groomsmen were Jon Schropfer, Bill Schropfer and Will Burenheide. The flower girls were Becka and Linnea Holmstrom; the ringbearers were Carter and Dawson Burenheide. Ushers were Brett Burenheide, Tony Cantrell and Cody Lightwine. The readers were Jenny Fochek and Jenny Madere. Program attendants were Nathan Schropfer and Easton Burenheide. The wedding musician was Elizabeth Gruber, cantor.
The wedding reception was at Havelock Social Hall in Lincoln, Neb. The rehearsal dinner was at Valentino’s restaurant in Lincoln, Neb.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to Florida.
The bride graduated from Benedictine College in Atchison with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration and the University of Nebraska Lincoln with a master’s degree in professional accountancy. She is a a CPA at HBE Becker Meyer Love LLP in Lincoln, where she has worked for four years.
The bridegroom graduated from Southeast Community College in Milford, Neb., with an associate’s degree. He is a trooper with the Nebraska State Patrol.
She is the daughter of former Emporian Bernard and Trudy Burenheide of Falls City, Neb.
He is the son of Ron and Georgia Schropfer of Fairmont, Neb.
Grandparents are Norma and the late George Thackeray of Princeton, Mo., Jess and Georgia Schropfer of Ohiowa, Neb., Tony and the late Charlene Skutchan of Pleasant Dale, Neb., and the late Tony and Clara Jane Burenheide of Emporia.

Wedding: Yeager and Murray

Stephanie Jay Yeager and Randall James Murray were married July 11, 2009, at Grace United Methodist Church. The Rev. Matthew Stone officiated at the afternoon ceremony.
The man of honor was Byron Yeager, brother of the bride. The best man was Ryan Murray, brother of the bridegroom. The flower girl was Izabelle Youngers. Other attendants were Connie Dahl, Janel Soderborg, Mary McKee, Barbara Tatro, Thomas Tatro, Bob Fillingsness, Rhonda Fillingsness, Robin Garcia, Sonja Ledford, Kim Anderson, Charlotte White, Gabriel Hayes and Jae-hoon Kim.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico, and live in Wichita.
The bride graduated from Emporia High School and Kansas State University. She attends the University of Kansas School of Medicine.
The bridegroom graduated from Kingman High School and Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in fisheries, wildlife and conservation biology.
She is the daughter of Bill and Dorothy Yeager of Emporia. She is the granddaughter of Betty Yeager of Bazaar and Robert and Edna Fillingsness of Beresford, S.D.
He is the son of Ray and Karen Anderson of Kingman.

Wedding: Hamilton and Tabares

Kara Lynn Hamilton and Justin Michael Tabares were married Sept. 19, 2009, on the beach at Oak Island, N.C. The Rev. Shell Meyers officiated at the evening ceremony.
The maid of honor was Kelli Hamilton, sister of the bride. The best man was Timothy McKay. The flower girl was Arianna Hamilton, daughter of the couple. The ring bearer was Lucas Tabares, brother of the bridegroom. The usher was Jordan Eubank, brother of the bridegroom. Readers were Christopher Hamilton, Tara Davis and Melissa Conroy.
The wedding reception was at a private beachfront home in Oak Island, N.C.
The couple live in Oak Island, N.C. He is a plant manager at S&W Concrete.
The bride graduated from Emporia State University with a master’s degree in business administration.
She is the daughter of Ervin and Judith Hamilton of Huxley, Iowa.
He is the son of Penny Mains and Michael and Mary Beth Tabares of Emporia. He is the grandson of Gene and Lorena Mains of Kahola Lake.

Wedding: Lewis and Senft

Tara Dawn Lewis and Eugene Emory Senft were married July 10, 2009, at the Reading United Methodist Church in Reading. The Rev. Margaret Gunselman officiated at the evening ceremony.
The maid of honor was Ashley Maris. The best man was Lucus Senft, brother of the bridegroom. The bride’s other attendants were Lisa Gretierez and Shawna Sull. The groomsmen were Andy Hinrichs and Michael Hendricks. The flower girl was McKinley Lewis, daughter of the bride. The bubble girls were Emma Mengotti and Dallie Senft. The wedding musician was Barbara Schlobohm. Candlelighters were Delaney Cowden, sister of the bride, and Coby, Camden and Cadin Worcester. Charlie Lewis, sister of the bride, was the guestbook attendant.
Transportation to the wedding reception was a lawn tractor with a trailer, in which the bridegroom rode on a saddled hay bale. The tractor was driven by the bride. Transportation was provided by the bridegroom’s siblings.
The bride is the daughter of Angie Lewis of Reading and Keith Cowden of Newton and stepdaughter of Chip Lewis of Cowley, Wyo. She is the granddaughter of Sylvia Cowden of Lawrence and Donald Schlesener of Reading.
The bridegroom is the son of Scott and Debra Senft of Emporia. He is the grandson of Arlou Senft of Osage City and Rita Dawkins of Quincy, Fla., who baked the wedding cake.

Engagement: Palmer and Hopkins

Corey Palmer and Rand Hopkins announce their engagement.
Palmer graduated from Emporia State University with a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in clinical psychology. She is a hospice care consultant at Hospice Care of Kansas.
Hopkins graduated from the Flint Hills Area Vocational Technical School and attended Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia and the University of Kansas. He was formerly employed at Hopkins Manufacturing.
She is the daughter of Larry and Jane Palmer of Emporia.
He is the son of Ross Eugene and Juanita Hopkins of Emporia.
The couple plan to marry Oct. 17, 2009, at Grace United Methodist Church.

Engagement: Glaser and Wanklyn

Melissa Glaser and Kevin Wanklyn announce their engagment.
Glaser graduated from Emporia High School, Kansas State University with bachelor’s degrees in elementary education and English and a master’s degree in English. She works in the PILOTES Program at Kansas State University.
Wanklyn graduated from Lakin High School, Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in mechanical engineering, and a doctorate in mechanical engineering. He works for Uncopiers, Inc., at Manhattan.
She is the daughter of Don and Linda Glaser of Emporia.
He is the son of Mark and Sandy Wanklyn of Lakin.
The couple plan to marry Jan. 9, 2010, at All Faiths Chapel in Manhattan.
