Congratulations, Emporia

IT WAS REPORTED recently that Robert Driewer has been hired as the new CEO of Newman Regional Health. As an employee of the hospital where he served as CEO for 11 years, I must say our loss is your gain.
Prior to Bob’s tenure at Faith Regional Health Services (FRHS) in Norfolk, NE many people had no choice but to travel over 100 miles to seek the specialty care they needed. Under Bob’s leadership FRHS grew from a community hospital into a regional referral center. We have been successful in recruiting many specialists into the community, have greatly expanded our cardiology program, and began many other programs where none existed. Such expansion requires a great team. A great team needs a great leader. Because of this expansion it is my opinion that many people in northeast Nebraska owe their lives in part to Bob’s leadership skills.
I encourage the Newman Regional staff, board of directors and community at large to allow Bob the opportunity to demonstrate his leadership skills. If so, you, like us, will find yourselves better positioned to provide continually improving healthcare in your community.
Congratulations Emporia. Bob, if you happen to read this, we’re having a great time in Norfolk. Wish you were here.
