The public will have an opportunity to talk about health care reform in a town hall meeting on Tuesday.
The meeting, which is hosted by the Kansas Health Policy Authority, will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Emporia Public Library, 110 E. Sixth Ave. The purpose of the meeting is to encourage dialogue between the public and the Kansas Health Policy Authority.
Representatives of the Kansas Health Policy that will be in attendance are KPHA Executive Director Marcia Nielsen, Lyon County Community Partners and Kansas Health Policy Authority staff members.
“In 2007, we started a conversation with Kansans about health care reform,” Nielsen said. “We intend to continue that conversation until we achieve our goals. People’s lives are deeply affected by the state of their health and the health of their loved ones. This year, we hope to share information with communities about the progress of health reform in Kansas and to hear more about individual experiences with the Kansas health care system.”
Topics include:
• An overview of the 2008 Legislative session.
• A preview of the 2009 Legislative session.
• Strategies for meeting the needs of Kansas health consumers.
