ESU softball team named to Academic top 10

The Emporia State softball team is ranked fifth in the the All-Academic top ten teams by the fast pitch coaches for the 2007-08 school year.
The Hornets have been ranked as a top five academic team in all of Kristi Bredbenner’s three years as the head coach. Bredbenner also took the Hornets to the national championship game last season.
ESU players Samantha Sheeley, April Huddleston and Miranda Campbell all earned ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors last season. Campbell, Huddleston, Jennifer Dace, Abby Smith and Jessie Wiard earned Academic All-MIAA honors for posting a 3.50 cumulative GPA and being named All-MIAA on the field. Eight Hornets were named to the MIAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll.
