The Community Theatre of Emporia’s Eighth Annual Mid Summer Fair with activities, entertainment and family friendly summer fun for everyone will begin with daily activities beginning at 5 p.m. on July 20, 21 and 23 at Peter Pan Park (wading pool opens at noon); daily activities on July 22 and 24 will begin at 6 p.m. in front of the Granada Coffee Co., The Sweet Granada and the Emporia Granada Theatre (342-8630) with plays inside the theater at 7:30 and 8:15 p.m.; and beginning at 10 a.m. July 25 with the Mid Summer Fair Parade at Peter Pan Park.
The plays, “Peggy the Pint Sized Pirate” and Shakespeare’s “As You Like It,” will also be performed in the park at 6:30 and 7:15 p.m. Activities in the park include a tour and activity by the Lyon County Historical Society (on July 20, 21 and 23) along with bubble blowing, painting, sidewalk chalk art, ribbon dancing, a ring toss, an egg race and more. Emporia Recreation Center lifeguards will be on duty at the wading pool.
