Summer Meals Program

BREAKFAST

Monday: continental choice.

Tuesday: continental choice.

Wednesday: continental choice.

Thursday: continental choice.

Friday: continental choice.

LUNCH

Monday: hot dog on a bun, Spartan fries, broccoli florets and dip, mandarin oranges.

Tuesday: Bosco sticks, marinara sauce, tri tater, baby carrots and dip, tropical fruit.

Wednesday: country-fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, hot roll, diced peaches.

Thursday: burrito, nacho chips, cheese sauce, tossed salad, strawberries.

Friday: chicken patty on a bun, tater tots, green beans, pineapple.

Juice and milk are served with breakfast; milk is served with lunch.

Free summer meals are served at Logan Avenue, Riverside, Timmerman, Walnut and William Allen White elementary schools and Emporia Middle School and Emporia High School.

Friendship Meals

EMPORIA

Friendship meals are served at noon at the Emporia Senior Center, 603 E. 12th Ave.

Reservations should be made one day in advance by calling the Senior Center, 343-3160, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. For home delivery, call 340-8001.

These meals will be served next week.

Monday: salisbury steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, bread, tropical fruit, sherbet.

Tuesday: chicken and noodles, California-blend vegetables, wheat roll, blushing applesauce.

Wednesday: hamburger on a bun, baked beans, broccoli salad, honey dew melon.

Thursday: turkey slice, sweet potato, peas, bread, strawberries and banana, cookie.

Friday: hamburger-cheese casserole, lettuce, tomato and dressing, bread, pears.

NORTH LYON COUNTY

Friendship meals are served at noon at: the Americus Senior Center, 516 Locust St., (620) 443-5352 and the North Lyon County Senior Center at Allen, (620) 528-3414; Reading residents who want meals can call the North Lyon County Senior Center.

Reservations should be made by phone one day in advance.

These meals will be served next week.

Monday: salisbury steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, carrots, bread, rosy applesauce.

Tuesday: glazed ham loaf, au gratin potatoes, beets, bread, cantaloupe.

Wednesday: chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, hot roll, strawberries and bananas.

Thursday: pork roast, boiled potatoes and gravy, spinach, wheat roll, fruited gelatin.

Friday: ham and beans, coleslaw, cornbread, sherbet, cookie.

• Menus are provided by the senior meal programs and the Emporia school district.
