Saw a lot of families up and down Commercial St. for the parade. It was a lot of fun, especially the Burton & Barr motorized recliners. The Lot looked busy with lots of people claiming their spots. Emporia should be proud of the all the hard work of the volunteers and organizers. I hope all who stayed in town can make it down to the lot today and out to the display tonight. Remember to be safe and drive courtiously. Happy Fourth of July Everyone!

My family had a lot of fun. We didn't get to experience all there was to the festival because of family dinners and such, but had fun at the Granada Theater and the parade. My son even found a "new" favorite cartoon among the oldies being played. We are now assigned to try to find old episodes of Hippity Hooper for a Christmas present. Thanks so much to Matt and all the other organizers, sponsors, volunteers and participants. We are looking forward to next year!
