A group of Master Gardeners along with children and spouses gathered Sunday afternoon to decorate pumpkins, show costumes, eat hot dogs and sample a variety of pumpkin desserts. Ava and Mae Jordan won the costume contest by dressing as a witch and a spider.
Ava portrayed a friendly witch, and Mae was a black spider with lots and lots of legs.
Everyone decorated pumpkins with scraggly yarn hair, wiggly eyes, lots of teeth, a bat and straight black lines.
The desserts had interesting names suck as Harvest Pumpkin Snap, Pumpkin Roll, Praline Pumpkin Pie, Pumpkin Bars and Pumpkin Bread with Cream Cheese Icing.
Dale and Belle Grimsley hosted the Pumpkin Patch Experience in their shop at the corner of Main and Locust.
Guests were Jim and Cathy Hoy, Frank and Liz Voorhees, Harry and Sharon Stephens, Jan Miley, Amy, Ava and Mae Jordan.
