Emporia High quarterback Brandon Gentz has a hip flexor strain and is questionable for Friday’s final district game at Salina South, Gentz said Monday.
The junior said he was examined by Emporia State athletic trainer John Baxter on Monday afternoon and was given a 50-50 chance of playing Friday. He said after Monday’s team film study that he’d be resting the injury for the day.
“As of right now, just depends how I progress throughout the week,” Gentz said. “I’m going every day to get treatment after practice.”
