During their action session on Thursday, Lyon County commissioners passed a resolution proclaiming Nov. 3-16 the All-Veterans Tribute Celebration.
Betty Senn of the Emporia Chamber and Visitors Bureau presented the proclamation to commissioners, who passed it 3-0.
In other business, commissioners discussed the creation of a clerk position in the Lyon County Jail. Commissioners gave directions for staff at the jail to proceed with the process of creating the position and work with human resources to create a job description. The position will be funded with existing funds and not with additional tax money.
In other matters, commissioners approved the consent agenda, which included approval of the low bid of National Sign Company for the signs and faces in the amount of $2,221.80 and approval of the purchase of a replacement office copier for the Sheriff’s Office not to exceed $2,875.
