Our house way out in the hills of Chase Co. had metal skirting and one night an armadillo was trying to dig under it and made the worst loud scraping sound as his armour rubbed the metal. Our border collie couldn't touch him when he rolled up in that ball he was safe from the dog's teeth!
Last month the kids and I drove to Tulsa OK from Emporia and counted over 20 roadkill armadillos just one way!

I am in Emporia and several months ago advertised some puppies for sale in the Gazette and I was called with the same type of scam. They asked for my email. It's a scam that has been around for a while from what I found out later. They wanted to get the puppies shipped! Crazy.

Great story!! What if he was "healthier" didn't smoke, chew or eat fat? Maybe he ran 5 miles a day...aren't his chances then higher for being hit by a moving vehicle? There is always something risky around the corner that can harm humans. Why do you think insurance companies exist? Sounds like Grandfather worked hard and like what he liked. Hmmmm bacon sounds good all of the sudden.

Dates for the band CO-Dependents to play is wrong..they play THIS Saturday at the Noose 8-11 then NEXT Sat. the 21st at the Heidi Inn in Lebo. Nevertheless..great band :)

This is a testament to how spoiled, greedy and hung up on immediate gratification our world is today. I would wonder how many could survive a time like the depression now? Amazing stories and I am so glad they were published.

The only thing I watched 49 for was Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters, both of which you can watch online without near the amount of annoying commercials that you usually experience. They are both hour long shows on TV but online it is about 30 min. Love it!

Most good shows that are on ABC regularly can be viewed online too. That's what I do when I forget to set the DVR. Still irritating though, a bunch of greedy jerks ruining it for everyone, and I really don't understand why the other channels are ok with it and 49 isn't, what's the big difference?
