Reportable quantity has to do with reporting it to the KDHE and EPA. For example if you spill 55 gallons of diesel then you must notify the KDHE about the release.

The last thing this county needs is another taxing entity with no cap on their mill levy. Taxes are outrageous in this county already. Sure it may only be a few mills, but they add up. This is definetely not the time. If its working now why switch?

There are alot of communities nation wide that dont allow it. Do a quick yahoo search. They haven't allowed it at Hartford for a few years.
In a sue happy society why open yourself up to litigation because we all know if anybody gets injured, whoever was involved in the float is gonna get a lawsuit. Its the way the US operates these days even if it was just an accident.

Yep, FD hazmat teams are there to try and mitigate the hazard whether it be stopping the leak, containing the spill, etc. They are not for clean up.
On Firefighters called to hazmat spill
