Very well said madparent. I can undersatand your anger from your first posting though. I am glad you had time to look at it different. I am not familiar with too many parents or students of EHS, so I guess had I known her, and been involved with the wrestling group, or a wrestler, I probably would have shared your anger as well.

Well. madparent, you have every right to be upset. No one here has walked in her shoes. She made a mistake, and more than once, maybe this one will be the one that breaks her habit. Being in high school is bad enough when your parent(s) name is isn't in the news, I just hope her kids will get through this ok. Seeing them hurting would be punishment enough for me if I were judge. But I am not her judge, nor is anyone else regardless if you are on the wrestling team or not. I am sure the wrestlers won't do without. What she did with the money shouldn't be of any concern on how she gets sentenced. I guess I just don't hate this women like some are doing. Regardless what she spent the money on, she will have her time in court and they will prosecute her as they see fit. Madparent, I hope God will soften your heart and you can find forgivness for this lady.

You see this type of headline even here at EHS. The coaches seem to only depend on a few players. Is it right? No! Will it change? Never! But in their defense, I don't think they (the coaches) have control over what the headline is going to read. The writing staff is guilty in my eyes for allowing these kind of headlines.
My daughter was a very team oriented player her years of playing ball for Olpe Eagles. Myslef as a parent saw both sides of the story. We had one child who was a star player and one who sat on the bench most of the time. I also had the advantage to see how our EHS girls basketball coach was. I was not impressed with him either.
I was impressed with how Coach Davis handled situations. If it wasn't for Mrs. Davis, I am sure my daughter wouldn't have played for the head coach of Olpe.

I am sure they were shut down for more than what you call "a few bedsores" Do you know how bed sores happen? They happen because the patients are not being turned like they should have been. I do not blame anything "this time" on the Gazette not getting their facts straight. The rehab center may have turned around recently as you have mentioned, but it must not have been soon enough for the state. When it comes to our older loved ones, why not have high standards for the elderly? The government standards should be high! I am not sure where you are coming from when you say what you do. I am sure you would feel differant if you were in the rehab or had a loved one in there.
In the past 5 years, the rehab has basically become a place where patients who were having a hard time finding any other place to live came. It was turning into a psych ward. Basically, the rehab center needed beds filled for monetary purposes. They were not correctly staffed to take care of most of the patients they had.
And by the way, it takes more than just a one time 2 star rating to close down a care home. You should look deeper into it.
I hope all find a place to live.

Too bad the carriage rides are cancelled, but it's understandable. To everyone shopping tonight, please be careful! Merry Christmas to all!

Forget Redecker? Do you mean in the news? He'll still have his time in court. What he did or didn't do may not be as bad as what this guy did....but if he is guilty.......then he should be punished just the same.
