Yeah Clarine! I love when people try to fix up new areas, especially south. The city stopped the improvement at the tracks even though businesses are farther down. This is north of the tracks but it is fixing & developing closer and closer. Come on Clint, send some improvement money south, please.

Several people have said that they were positive for H1N1 but I've heard that test is very expensive (around $600ish), so they were probably positive for the flu (no type testing done). The labs are only testing whether it is positive or negative for influenza, not which type of flu they have. When someone dies, they test to see what they have.

I am against naming streets after people in athletics and sports. Many donate a lot of money which is good but their true personalities and attitudes about themselves can be rather different then when they are center stage, which is the case here. I would like to see streets named after true heros like those who fight for our freedom and our rights.

Most folks in Olpe wave to each other passing on the roads too. I found it funny when I moved there several years ago but yet it was really nice. I wave at every vehicle, tractor, walker, etc. too. My kids do the same when they are back in the community.

I've been there once and loved my food and the bread! The young man serving us was excellent. I will go back again and again. Hang in there.

I went into Jock's Nitch at different times to find certain items or just see what they had available and every time I left I told myself I woundn't go back because of the very poor service I rec'd or lack of it. The store was not busy the times I went in. I was never acknowledged with a "Hello" or "Can I help you find something or a certain size." Pretty much just ignored. When I made a purchase once, the two employees were busy visiting and I felt that I was interupting them. I tried giving them several chances but I only left agitated and decided it wasn't worth it. I do like shopping Wal-Mart, JCPenney and Cato because they are clean, affordable and the staff are willing to help you.

There were 4 cars in the ditch on a short drive I had to make this afternoon on a rural road. There is no room for error so it's a good thing to get the childred home as early as possible. Better safe than sorry. Obviously these decisions are made to keep people safe because we do live in Kansas where we do have tornadoes, floods, heat waves and ice & snow storms all in one week. We are not left out just because we live on the eastern half.

The Williams' family are very good people. If they thought Vanderman was truly sorry for what he did they would have asked for a lesser sentence. Glenda, the girls and all the family have suffered and will suffer more than Vanderman will ever know or realize.
